CRIMINAL LAW SECTION: The Criminal Law Section includes attorneys with an interest in criminal law matters. This section sponsors one-credit CLEs and strives to keep its members informed of changes that affect criminal law practice in Pierce County.
The Criminal Law Section chair is responsible for developing topics of interest to criminal practitioners, both prosecution and defense, and procures speakers on these subjects. The chair prepares and distributes agendas, minutes and meeting notices. The chair selects and obtains meeting locations and times and moderates meetings. The chair updates the section membership list, prepares the annual report for the bar and coordinates with the main bar for a CLE half-day presentation once a year. Approximate chair time required: 2 hours per month including attending meetings. Time will double when organizing half-day events and writing the annual report.
