2018 Board of Trustees Meeting Highlights
No August Meeting
July 17, 2018
July’s meeting shows that we don’t slow down for summer, except to skip an August meeting while recovering from a lot of fun.
On August 3, the Young Lawyers host the first annual Casino Night at the Historic 1625 on South Tacoma Way. Black tie 1920’s theme attire with costume contest, prizes, food, drink, and gambling with funny money with proceeds donated to Tacomaprobono.
You can recover on August 4th by enjoying a lazy summer afternoon at Martin Duenhoelter’s farm and Lawyerpalooza. Food, music, and casual camaraderie with colleagues. Chuck Johnston gave a history of Lawyerpalooza with a video slide show of friends, family and fun from past years. Bring your office staff, family and friends, picnic blankets and even camp under the stars if you choose.
The BOT voted to donate budgeted funds for a community service project at Tacoma’s McCarver Elementary school on September 4. This event will provide school supplies, clothes, fun and games, and community resources for an historically underserved part of our community.
The fun doesn’t end when summer does. The TPCBA Bar Convention will be October 5-7 at the beautiful Semiahmoo resort. The theme is Marybelle’s Speakeasy, so don your Casino Night costume for more Roaring 20’s fun on the beach.
The next Board of Trustees meeting will be on September 18, 2018 at 7:15 at the Tacoma Harvester Restaurant. Everyone is welcome.
