Law Student Dues
Law Student membership runs on a modified school-year calendar (September through August) and the application is renewable annually. TPCBA dues are waived for Law Students as described as any person who is enrolled in an ABA or Washington State Bar accredited law school as a candidate for a juris doctor degree.
Law Student Benefits
Law students who complete the membership application will be eligible to serve on the TPCBA Young Lawyers Section and attend their monthly meetings. (A Young Lawyer is a lawyer 36 years of age or younger, or who have practiced law for five years or less). The TPCBA-YLS is one of the leading Bar sections involved in community service and volunteer projects. The TPCBA-YLS sponsors a number of social events, which give students and new lawyers a chance to meet and socialize with their friends and colleagues in the Tacoma area. These events include CLEs and occasional informal events at a local pub. The New & Young Lawyers Section meets the first Tuesday of each month at in person meetings with Zoom option available. Students will also receive an emailed copy of the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association bi-monthly magazine entitled “The Pierce County Lawyer”, as well as reduced student fees to all of the association’s continuing legal education programs.
